Morocco Receives 500,000 Doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 Vaccine, Prepares for National Rollout

The first batches of the Chinese laboratory Sinopharm’s vaccine arrived in Morocco on Wednesday. The AT3087 Royal Air Maroc flight, dispatched on Monday to transport them, landed at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca.
With this new batch of vaccines, the national vaccination campaign can now be launched after several postponements in Morocco. These are 500,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccines transported by the Royal Air Maroc Dreamliner, representing a portion of the 45,000,000 doses of vaccines ordered by the kingdom.
These first batches were received after the delivery, last Friday, of 2,000,000 doses of the vaccine from the British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca. They have already been distributed in the various provinces of the kingdom in preparation for the official launch of the vaccination campaign throughout Morocco, starting this Friday, January 29, 2021.
