Morocco to Receive First Batch of Chinese COVID-19 Vaccines in December

The date of vaccination of Moroccans against the coronavirus has been revealed by Dr. Abdellatif Yassi, a specialist in the emergency and toxicology department at the Hassan II Regional Hospital in Agadir.

In a Facebook post, Dr. Abdellatif Yassi stated that "the first batch of anti-corona vaccines from the Chinese laboratory Sinopharm will arrive in Morocco in December 2020". He further specifies that it is "one of the best vaccination projects on the world market (200 vaccine projects currently on the market), given that China is the first country affected by this virus, which has allowed it to learn more about its genomes".

Continuing his revelations, the specialist in the emergency and toxicology department at the Hassan II Regional Hospital in Agadir emphasizes that "China has tested the vaccine on more than a million citizens before reaching the third phase of trials, where the vaccine has been tested in several countries (Brazil, Argentina, Egypt...) and has given promising results without recording any dangerous side effects, apart from a transient fever, according to a senior Chinese official".

Furthermore, Dr. Yassi indicated that "Morocco will receive the results of the 600 Moroccan volunteers followed at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital in Casablanca and Avicenne in Rabat on November 15, in order to make the final decision". As for the people who will benefit from this vaccine first, Abdellatif Yassi specified that it is "employees in the medical sector, security, the elderly, pregnant women and people with chronic diseases, as well as employees in the public transport sector. Then Morocco will have the permission of the Chinese laboratory to produce the vaccine and export it to several African countries".
