Morocco Nears Milestone in Domestic Covid-19 Vaccine Production

The countdown has begun for the manufacture next month of the anti-Covid vaccine by Morocco. But before that, the health authorities are awaiting the final results of the clinical trials and the authorization of the WHO.
After the evaluation of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine carried out, the process took place without difficulty. The vaccine did not have any side effects on the volunteers of the phase III clinical trials, notes Le360, indicating that Morocco will thus be able to take possession of a sufficient number of this anti-Covid-19 vaccine from the Chinese laboratory Sinopharm CNBG in the coming days.
Currently, the Chinese and Moroccan experts are in the evaluation phase of the operation, in order to determine the effectiveness of the vaccine. They also want to ensure its ability to neutralize the virus. It is a vaccine likely to produce antibodies without causing side effects. The analyzes carried out by the Chinese laboratories to verify the capacity of the Moroccan immune system have also been satisfactory.
The launch of vaccine production requires the approval of the World Health Organization (WHO). In this regard, the Chinese laboratory should continue the administrative process, to obtain the necessary authorizations.
It should be noted that the clinical trials of the Chinese vaccine were carried out on more than 50,000 people of 125 nationalities with success. Thanks to Morocco’s cooperation, the vaccine will also be produced in Morocco from next month and will be marketed in neighboring countries and the rest of the African continent. Health and security personnel as well as people with chronic illnesses and pregnant women will be vaccinated first before being generalized to "healthy" people, the same source specifies.
