Morocco Set to Acquire Chinese Covid-19 Vaccine, Plans Clinical Trials

Morocco is preparing to acquire a Chinese vaccine that will be available by the end of the year. While waiting to have this vaccine, clinical trials are planned in the kingdom as well as a Covid-19 vaccination campaign.
According to Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, the phase III clinical trials of the Covid-19 vaccine from the Chinese laboratory "Sinopharm CNBG" (China National Biotec Group Company Limited) have been successful.
The vaccine will be available this year thanks to the results of these vaccine trials also in several countries. It is a "safe, effective vaccine that allows a strong antibody response against the virus". In addition, other trials are also announced with 600 volunteers in the Kingdom. They will be carried out at the university hospitals of Rabat and Casablanca as well as at the military hospital of Rabat.
As part of the upcoming Covid-19 vaccination campaign, a meeting was held yesterday, Thursday, October 8, between the Minister of Health and the ministry’s executives to develop the strategy to be adopted.
