Morocco Ranks 76th in Global Terrorism Index, Outperforming Several Western Nations

Morocco is one of the safest countries in the world, according to the latest "Global Terrorism Index 2022" ranking established by the Institute for Economics and Peace based in Australia. The kingdom was ranked 76th globally.
Morocco is among the countries with a low terrorist risk, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribiya citing the latest "Global Terrorism Index 2022" ranking. The Kingdom occupies the 76th place with a total of 1,156 points. At the top of the ranking are Afghanistan, followed by Iraq and Somalia, with a very high terrorist risk.
Morocco has been commended for the strategies and policies implemented by the authorities in the fight against terrorism, and for all the actions taken to thwart terrorist threats. "The bloody attacks of 2003 had a significant impact on the country, prompting the government to take the terrorist threat more seriously, which until then was perceived as distant and limited to the Middle Eastern geographical area," writes the report of the Australian think tank.
In addition to Morocco, three other Arab countries are among the best ranked Arab countries in terms of terrorism. These are Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
