Morocco Ranks 106th in Global Happiness Index, 11th in Africa

Morocco is the 11th happiest country in Africa, 6th in the Arab world and 106th in the world, ahead of Algeria (12th, 7th and 109th) in the 2021 World Happiness Report ranking.
Morocco ranks 11th on the African scale behind Libya (1st) and ahead of Algeria (12th), Tunisia (21st) and Egypt (24th). The kingdom ranks 6th among the happiest countries in the Arab world behind Bahrain (1st), United Arab Emirates (2nd), Saudi Arabia (3rd), Kuwait (4th), Libya (5th) and ahead of Algeria (7th), Tunisia (9th) and Egypt (13th). Morocco ranks 106th in the global top behind Libya (80th), and ahead of Algeria (109th) and Egypt (132nd).
In the global top 10, we find Finland, designated the "happiest country in the world" for the fourth consecutive year, ahead of Denmark, Switzerland and Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Luxembourg, New Zealand and Austria.
To carry out this study published since 2012 and sponsored by the United Nations, the authors use Gallup surveys. The study is conducted in 149 countries. Residents are asked about their own level of happiness. The results are calculated based on GDP, corruption indices, individual freedom, life expectancy and generosity.
