Morocco Qualifies for Track Cycling World Championships in Paris for First Time

A good start to the year for Moroccan cycling, which, after its qualification for the World Road Cycling Championships (Australia 2022), was able to snatch its ticket to participate in the Paris Track Cycling World Championships, which will be held from October 12 to 16.
The Paris Track Cycling World Championships will take place at the Vélodrome National de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (Paris suburbs). And Morocco qualified after its performance at the last African Track Cycling Championships, which took place from July 14 to 17 in Abuja, Nigeria. Morocco will thus participate for the 1st time in these track cycling world championships. This competition brings together the best track cyclists at the world level, as well as the title holders of the previous edition (Roubaix 2021) and the continental champions, all interested in the UCI rainbow jersey.
In Morocco, the professionals in the discipline are delighted with this first participation and the efforts made by the authorities to make this qualification possible. Even if the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation (FRMC) does not have a velodrome, it has nevertheless invested a lot in the promotion and enhancement of African track cycling.
It has hosted two editions of the African Track Cycling Championships (2016 and 2018), and has not neglected any of the editions initiated by the African Cycling Confederation (CAC), whether in Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt. These are the competitions during which Moroccan cyclists have won several continental titles.
