Egypt Follows Morocco in Withdrawing from North African Karate Championships

After Morocco, Egypt has also decided to withdraw from the North African Karate Championships to be held in Tunis, from September 7 to 11.
Under the aegis of the African Karate Federations Union, this competition brings together representatives of North African countries in a number of events. "Concerned about the good representation of all participating teams, the vigor and aura of the competition, the Egyptian Karate Federation has decided to withdraw from the North African Karate Championships," a statement from the body said.
This decision comes after Morocco’s withdrawal, which announced last week that it will no longer participate in the North African Karate Championship, in reaction to the welcome in Tunis of the Polisario Front leader by Tunisian President Kais Saied, on the same level as the presidents and heads of government who came to attend the Japan-Africa summit.
Rabat has described this welcome as a "serious and unprecedented act, which deeply hurts the feelings of the Moroccan people." Morocco believes that Tunisia has "unilaterally" invited Brahim Ghali to the summit "against the advice of Japan and in violation of the preparation process."
