Morocco Withdraws from North African Karate Championship amid Diplomatic Tensions with Tunisia

Morocco announced on Saturday that it will not participate in the North African Karate Championship scheduled for September 7-11 in Tunisia.
In a statement published on Saturday and obtained by the Anadolu Agency, the Royal Moroccan Federation of Karate and Associated Disciplines announced the cancellation of its participation in the North African Karate Championship. The reason is the emerging crisis between the two countries because of the Sahara.
Morocco recalled its ambassador to Tunisia, Hassan Tarek, on Friday, after Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed received the leader of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, as part of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 8) being held in Tunisia.
