Morocco’s Prison Authority Denies Inmate Death Rumors at El Arjat Facility

The information, widely relayed on social networks and reporting the homicide of a detainee at the local prison of El Arjat, is false. The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR), while providing its denial, warns the authors of this "fake news".
No homicide of a detainee at the local prison of El Arjat! This is the formal denial of the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR), following the rumors published on the web by certain detractors. For the officials of this Directorate, it is information "devoid of any foundation".
The same source reports that the competent services of the Delegation had transferred, on July 26, 2019, from the local prison of El Arjat 2 to that of Tiflet, the prisoner, B. M., involved in crimes of rape and indecent assault resulting in death. This preventive measure was taken to avoid contact with the others involved in the "Hanane" case, in order to ensure the proper conduct of the investigations.
However, the DGAPR has warned the authors of these defamations, threatening to bring the matter before the courts.
