Morocco’s Prime Minister Urges Vigilance as COVID-19 Cases Surge

The speed at which the epidemiological situation is evolving in Morocco with hundreds of infections every day is worrying the authorities. The Head of Government, Saâdeddine El Othmani, believes that it is necessary to raise the level of caution and vigilance.
On Thursday, at the opening of the Council of Government, the head of the Executive indicated that "the responsibility is individual and collective and that everyone must contribute positively to the fight against this pandemic, by adhering to preventive measures and adopting good behavior".
Regarding the mandatory wearing of masks, El Otmani stated that the Council of Government will adopt a decree-law amending "the method of recovering fines in order to simplify the procedures taken for compliance with the law and to increase the effectiveness of its application".
