Morocco Extends COVID-19 State of Emergency as Cases Rise

The epidemiological situation is hardly reassuring in Morocco with the new coronavirus infections. The government council therefore decided, Thursday for the 5th consecutive time, to extend the state of health emergency.
In a message posted on his Facebook account, Head of Government Saededdine El Othmani confirmed that the Government Council approved on Thursday morning a draft decree extending the state of health emergency until September 10 to counter the coronavirus epidemic.
The council also validated an amendment to the decree-law relating to the promulgation of provisions for the state of health emergency, regarding the payment of conventional fines in the event of violations of the obligations related to health measures.
