Morocco’s Prime Minister Warns of Possible Lockdown as COVID-19 Cases Surge

Faced with the resurgence of new Covid-19 contamination cases and the non-compliance with health measures, the option of a generalized re-confinement is no longer to be ruled out. This is what the Head of Government has declared.
In a tweet, Saâdeddine El Othmani sought to enlighten public opinion on the government’s position in the face of the epidemiological peaks recently recorded in the country.
"The high incidence recently recorded has been observed everywhere in the world, and could be explained by active virus circulation," affirmed the head of the Executive.
"This sharp increase is all the more natural, due to the easing of confinement and the difficulty in getting the entire population to comply with barrier gestures," added El Othmani, who rules out resorting to a generalized confinement.
"The decision to re-confine the cities and neighborhoods where new outbreaks of contamination appear will be subject to the assessment of the health authorities," he concluded.
