Morocco’s Prime Minister: COVID-19 Measures Effective, Situation Under Control

The health measures to fight the Covid-19 pandemic have proven their worth. This is what the Head of Government Saâdeddine El Othmani affirmed, assuring that the health situation is under control.
Responding to the fundamental question on "the government’s policy in light of the evolution of the epidemiological situation", the head of government reassured his compatriots. He stated that certain measures are essential despite the rigorous decisions of the State. During the monthly session of general policy questions in the House of Representatives, Mr. El Othmani stressed that "the government assumes its responsibilities and cannot in any way jeopardize the health and safety of citizens," reports La Map.
The head of government returned to the royal speeches regarding the action plan in terms of the fight against the pandemic. He also insisted on the collective national mobilization and the duty to show vigilance and commitment, in the face of the health of the population. He also recalled the impact on the economy and the support for social protection. The government has also worked to respect and implement the royal instructions, he said.
Despite the increase in cases of contamination, the head of government said that all necessary efforts have been made to maintain the situation under control and eliminate the spread of the virus.
So far, the health system has needed the mobilization of 26.3% of the intensive care beds allocated to the recorded severe and critical cases. This suggests a stability of cases of contamination in certain regions of the Kingdom. In terms of mortality, on the register of deaths worldwide, Morocco has, according to the head of government, a mortality rate of 1.7% compared to 2.7% at the beginning of the pandemic, concluded El Othmani.
