Morocco’s Prime Minister Urges Continued COVID-19 Vigilance as Virus Persists

The Head of Government called on Thursday for the population to continue to observe the rules put in place to contain the spread of covid-19. He stressed that the virus is still circulating and that it is important to take precautions so that the situation does not deteriorate.
According to the press release read by Said Amzazi, during a press conference following the meeting of the Council of Government, "the need to exercise more caution and comply with health measures and necessary precautions" is paramount. The Head of Government, Saad Dine El Otmani, who chaired the Council, remains concerned about the evolution of the epidemiological situation in the country.
Thus, during the meeting, he made it known that, in parallel with the extension of the state of health emergency, "the legal framework allows to take all necessary measures to deal with any negative development of the pandemic," reports the MAP.
In his speech, El Otmani declared to be "confident in the patriotic spirit and the high sense of duty of the Moroccan people, in order to continue to face the pandemic and to successfully fight its socio-economic impacts," specifies the same source.
