Morocco's Health Minister Warns Against Relaxing COVID-19 Precautions After Lockdown

Deconfinement should not be considered as a relaxation in compliance with the measures to fight the spread of Covid-19. Health Minister Khalid Ait Taleb continues to call on the population to respect these established standards, for the well-being of all.

Since deconfinement was decreed, the minister has not stopped inviting Moroccans to remain in the same dynamic as before: that of protecting themselves against the virus. During a press conference on Monday, he stated that a "relaxation in the face of health measures has been observed recently," before stressing the need to scrupulously respect the wearing of masks, social distancing, regular hand washing and the use of the "wiqaytna" application, in order to fight against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, reports La Map.

While expressing his concern about the increase in deaths and serious cases of contamination in the aftermath of deconfinement, Khalid Ait Taleb called on the population "to redouble vigilance and show responsibility and solidarity," especially with the approach of the school and university reopening. "It would be a shame to lose all the results and sacrifices made so far," he says, referring to the stable level of the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom.

The Minister of Health has invited all those who have symptoms such as "high fever, cough, loss of smell and breathing difficulties" as well as the elderly with chronic illnesses, to go to the nearest health facility or to quickly contact the Allo Yakada 080 100 47 47, Allô SAMU 141 or Allo 300 services, the same source specifies.
