Morocco Urges Public Adherence to COVID-19 Measures as Cases Surge

Faced with the increase in Covid-19 contamination cases in Morocco, the Ministry of Health calls on citizens to strictly respect the preventive measures.

The growing number of deaths and critical cases of coronavirus infection, recorded during the second phase of the gradual lifting of containment measures, is due to the non-compliance with the preventive measures established by the authorities, in particular the mandatory wearing of masks, respect for physical distancing, regular hand washing and the use of the "wiqaytna" application, indicates the minister in a press release.

The department of Kaled Aït Taleb affirmed that the underestimation by some people of the risks of the coronavirus and the non-respect of the preventive measures have strongly contributed to the spread of the virus, especially among the most vulnerable categories, in particular the elderly and those suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes, kidney failure and asthma.

Faced with this unsightly picture, the ministry has once again invited all citizens to comply with the preventive measures, namely wearing a mask, respecting physical distancing, regularly washing their hands and downloading the "wiqaytna" application and avoiding gatherings and spitting in public spaces.

As for people presenting symptoms such as high fever, cough, loss of smell and breathing difficulties, they are invited to contact the "Allo Yakada" 080 100 47 47, "Allô SAMU 141" or Allo 300 services.
