Faced with the worrying spread of Covid-19 cases, the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water has once again called on citizens and professionals to strictly respect the barrier measures established as part of the fight against the pandemic.

The day after the decision to ban travel to and from eight cities in the Kingdom, a press release from the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water was made public to further demand from citizens and professionals in the road transport sector (freight transport and public passenger transport) compliance with the decisions previously taken by the ministry, as well as the decisions established by the competent public authorities. This includes social distancing, wearing masks and using disinfectants, in order to preserve the safety of all and fight against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

For road freight transport professionals, the ministry of Abdelaziz Rabbah stressed that the number of passengers authorized for freight vehicles is two people (the vehicle driver and an accompanying person), while for the public passenger transport sector (public passenger transport, mixed transport, tourist transport and personnel transport), strict compliance with the prevention measures included in the specifications concerning the management of the risks of spread of this pandemic relating to transport companies and their employees, must be observed.

Furthermore, given the ban on travel to and from the cities of Tangier, Tetouan, Fez, Meknes, Casablanca, Berrechid, Settat and Marrakech, the same source specifies that travelers traveling to and from these cities must obtain a special travel authorization issued by the local authorities. To this end, they are invited to cooperate with the various stakeholders in order to comply with these provisions.
