Morocco Extends Nationwide COVID-19 State of Emergency Through August 10

The state of health emergency in Morocco is extended until August 10, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. throughout the national territory. This is the decision of the Council of Government.
The news was confirmed by the Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and government spokesperson, Saaid Amzazi.
The draft decree No. 2.20.426 extending the state of health emergency was adopted on Thursday in the Council of Government chaired by the Head of Government, Saad Dine El Otmani.
This extension of the state of health emergency is in line with the continuation of the necessary measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus by adapting these measures to the health context of each region, province and prefecture, it is indicated.
To recall, the government had decreed on March 24, 2020, the state of health emergency throughout the national territory in order to fight against the coronavirus. On June 9, 2020, it extended the state of emergency until July 10 and authorized the gradual deconfinement.
