Morocco Plans High-Speed Rail Link Between Tangier and Tetouan by 2030

The Moroccan authorities have selected the Spanish public engineering company Ineco to carry out the feasibility studies and the preliminary design of the railway line to Tangier and Tetouan. A mega-contract for which French companies also competed.
The project aims to connect the city center of Tangier to the football stadium and the airport, as well as Tangier and the city of Tetouan. In total, more than 85 km of new railway tracks are to be built as part of this project to facilitate mobility. This project is part of Morocco’s Railway Strategy by 2040.
"This contract is our first railway project in Morocco and consolidates our presence in the country where we are already carrying out work in the airport sector. It is an important step that, we hope, will continue to open up opportunities for the Spanish railway industry," said Sergio Vázquez Torrón, the president of Ineco.
Furthermore, the National Airports Office of Morocco (ONDA) recently selected Ineco to develop a Development Program for Aeronautical Infrastructure and Terminals at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. In short, a project to expand the airport platform to meet future challenges.
