Morocco’s Parliament to Launch Inquiry into National Highway Company

A fact-finding mission dedicated to highways should soon be created. The majority groups and the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP) are just waiting for the green light from the Bureau of the House of Representatives.
The parliamentary majority groups and the USFP socialist group, through the Infrastructure, Energy, Mines and Environment Committee in the House of Representatives, have addressed a request to the Bureau of the House for the opening of a temporary fact-finding mission on the Moroccan Motorways Company (ADM). Already, the Bureau of the House of Representatives, chaired by Rachid Talbi Alami, has, during its last meeting, taken note of the technical sheet relating to this information mission, reports the Arabic-language daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.
The objectives of the temporary fact-finding mission on the ADM company are clear. It is a question of consulting the medium and long-term strategy of the Moroccan Motorways Company, examining the state of the highways compared to the expectations of the users, taking stock of the equipment and tools used for their restoration, questioning the financial recovery program dating back to 2018 and discussing the difficulties facing the company in implementing its national strategy. Road safety on the highways is one of the topics that the deputies also intend to address with the Moroccan Motorways Company, as well as all the stakeholders, including the National Road Safety Agency (NARSA).
For the time being, the Bureau of the House of Representatives has not yet made a decision.
