Morocco Highway Chaos: Users Outraged as ADM Pushes ’Jawaz’ Service

In indirectly trying to impose its "Jawaz" service, the National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM) is fueling the anger of users.
Chaotic situation at the entrance to Casablanca from the Berrechid side on Sunday, May 15. Huge long queues formed on the lanes. An ambulance coming from Berrechid towards Casablanca "tried for more than 20 minutes to overtake hundreds of vehicles lined up in long queues". The National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM) is the source of this situation. A team from the Al Oâmk website met many citizens as well as foreigners participating in a car competition who expressed their anger at the National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM) for allocating three toll lanes while the rest of the lanes are assigned to "Jawaz" service users.
By transforming most of the lanes reserved for cars into lanes operating with this service, while leaving one lane for normal traffic and direct payment, ADM is trying to impose its service on users. Its annual report also specifies that it is seeking to generalize the "Jawaz" electronic payment corridors in order to achieve 80% of its number of transactions through electronic performance in the short term, a program whose total budget is estimated at around one billion dirhams.
