Will the Oukaïmeden ski resort welcome the public this year? A persistent rumor claims that it will be closed as part of the state of health emergency, a rumor that has elicited a reaction from an official of the El Haouz prefecture.
In a statement relayed by Kech24, the official said that apart from the derogatory travel certificate required by the Ministry of the Interior, no such decision has been made by the prefecture. The station remains open to local and foreign tourists.
Composed of about twenty slopes of all levels, the Oukaimeden ski resort is located in the High Atlas, about 80 kilometers from Marrakech. It is the highest winter sports station in Africa.
