Marrakech Travel Restrictions Remain as Morocco Maintains COVID-19 Precautions

The derogatory travel certificate will not be abolished. The authorities of Marrakech denied the rumor that had circulated last Friday and confirmed the maintenance of access restrictions to the city.
According to an official within the Wilaya of the Marrakech-Safi region, cited by Alyaoum24, the decision to lift the travel restrictions had to be abandoned, on instructions from the central administration. The new epidemiological data were not favorable.
However, continues the same source, the information had indeed been relayed by the national media. Many travelers, from Safi, El Jadida and Youssoufia, were blocked at the entrance to the city on Saturday morning.
In July, the Moroccan government had decided to prohibit travel to and from 8 Moroccan cities, including Marrakech. To date, no exemption to this measure has been adopted, specifies the same source.
