Morocco’s Olympic Football Team Stunned by Iraq in 1-0 Defeat

In preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Moroccan Olympic team lost 1-0 to Iraq on Thursday at the Père-Jégo stadium in Casablanca.
Despite a good start to the game, the players led by Issam Charaï, buoyed by their previous victories, including the one in the Africa Cup of Nations and against Brazil, were unable to capitalize on their efforts.
The 42nd minute was decisive: it was at this moment that Amin Al-Hamawi, an Iraqi player, found the back of the net. Moroccan attempts to equalize were numerous, but the lack of precision and a certain haste played against the teammates of Chadi Riad.
The second half saw the Moroccans multiply the chances without managing to equalize. For their part, the Iraqis remained threatening, narrowly missing doubling the lead at the end of the match. Finally, the score did not change, sealing an Iraqi victory 1-0.
