Morocco to Observe Moon for Eid al-Fitr 2025 Date, Despite Predictions

Astronomical calculations predict the celebration of Eid Al Fitr in Morocco on Monday, March 31, 2025, contrary to several Arab and European countries, but the observation of the moon remains the preferred option for the Moroccan religious authorities for the time being.

In a statement released yesterday, the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs informs "the honorable gentlemen judges and delegates for Islamic affairs of the Kingdom that the observation of the lunar crescent of the month of Shawwal will take place on the evening of Sunday, 29 Ramadan 1446 of the Hegira, corresponding to March 30, 2025. They are requested to kindly inform it of the confirmation or not of the observation of the lunar crescent, at the following telephone numbers:".
