Morocco’s Eid al-Fitr 2025 Date Set for March 30, Egyptian Institute Predicts

The date of Eid al-Fitr 2025 in Morocco is now known, it has just been confirmed by an Egyptian institute which also reveals the two Moroccan cities that will observe the crescent moon.
According to the forecasts of the National Institute of Astronomical and Geophysical Research, affiliated with the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the first day of Eid al-Fitr will be Sunday, March 30 in Egypt and several other Arab and Muslim countries such as Morocco. The crescent of Shawwal will appear immediately after the conjunction at 1 p.m. (local time in Cairo) on Saturday, March 29, 2025, or the 29th of the month of Ramadan 1446, the Institute specified, adding that this will be the "day of observation" of the crescent.
The crescent will be visible in the sky of Mecca for 7 minutes, for 11 minutes after sunset and between 3 and 19 minutes in the sky in several other capitals and major international cities such as Marrakech and Fez (Morocco), Algiers (Algeria), Nouakchott (Mauritania), Tunis (Tunisia), Tripoli (Libya), Ankara (Turkey), Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Jakarta (Indonesia), Doha (Qatar), Karachi (Pakistan), Amman (Jordan), Washington (United States), London (United Kingdom), etc.
Based on astronomical calculations, the institute confirmed that the first day of the month of Shawwal will be Sunday, March 30, corresponding to the first day of Eid al-Fitr 2025.
