Great Mosque of Paris Expects Eid al-Fitr on March 30

On what date will Eid al-Fitr 2025 be celebrated in France? While the faithful are divided on Sunday, March 30 and Monday, March 31, the Great Mosque of Paris will announce this Saturday the likely date of the celebration of this feast marking the end of the month of Ramadan.
"Eid al-Fitr will probably be on Sunday, March 30," the rector of the Great Mosque of Paris said Friday in an interview with Sud Radio. Chems-Eddine Hafiz added that "today, the issue is to know if it’s Sunday or Monday. For this year, it will probably be Sunday morning. The last day of fasting will be Saturday. We will perform the Eid prayer and we expect many faithful."
For its part, the French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) has already announced the date of Eid al-Fitr 2025 for Sunday, March 30. "According to astronomical data, the conjunction of the new moon marking the beginning of the month of Shawwal 1446H will occur on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:58 am (Paris time)," the institution said on March 25.
