French Muslim Council Sets Eid al-Fitr Date for March 30

The French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) announced on Tuesday the date of Eid al-Fitr. When will this celebration take place?
Like the Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF) and the Federation of Muslims of France (MF), the French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) announced the end of the month of Ramadan 1146/2025 for March 29, setting the date of Eid al-Fitr for March 30.
"The conjunction of the new moon marking the beginning of the month of Shawwal 1446H will occur on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:58 Paris time," the body said, adding that the crescent moon will be visible "that same evening in a large part of North America" and that "Sunday, March 30, 2025 will correspond to the day of Eid al-Fitr 1446".
However, this date may not be unanimous. The Great Mosques of Paris and Lyon, for their part, should announce the date of Eid al-Fitr during the Night of Doubt on Saturday, March 29.
The CFCM also recalled the amount of zakat al-fitr which is 9 euros per person. "However, estimates between 7 and 12 euros are also considered legitimate, depending on the legal opinions and the reference foodstuffs retained. It is up to each person to pay an amount in accordance with their situation and the religious opinion they usually refer to."
