Morocco to Observe Moon for Eid Al Fitr Date, Ministry Announces

Astronomical calculations predict the celebration of Eid Al Fitr in Morocco on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, like many Arab and European countries, but the observation of the moon remains the preferred option for the Moroccan religious authorities for the time being.
In a statement released yesterday, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs indicates that "the observation of the crescent moon announcing the first day of Eid Al Fitr will take place on Tuesday, Ramadan 29, 1445 of the Hegira. In this sense, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs calls on judges, nazirs and delegates of the ministry to inform the department of the observation of the crescent moon or its non-observation."
The latter are asked to contact the Ministry to confirm the observation or non-observation of the crescent moon at the following telephone numbers:
• 0537.76.11.45
• 0537.76.09.32
• 0537.76.05.49
• 0537.76.89.54
The fax number is also available at 0537.76.17.21.
