Morocco Announces Eid Al Fitr Celebration for Wednesday, April 10
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced this Tuesday evening, after the Al Maghrib prayer, the observation of the crescent moon announcing the beginning of the month of Shawwal 1445 H. It is therefore official, Eid Al Fitr 1445 will be celebrated tomorrow, Wednesday, April 10, 2024 in Morocco.
The ministry’s statement specifies that the observation of the crescent moon took place on the 29th of Ramadan 1445 of the Hegira, corresponding to April 9, 2024.
According to the forecasts of the astronomer Hassan Talibi, a member of the Islamic Crescent Observation Project, the new moon of the month of Shawwal 2024/1445 was to be observed on Tuesday, April 9, corresponding to the 29th day of Ramadan.
Based on scientific data, he had stated that Ramadan would last 29 days this year and Eid Al Fitr would be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10.
