Wednesday 7 July 2021, by
The threshold of 20 million doses should be crossed in the very near future. In 23 consecutive weeks of vaccination, the number of fully vaccinated people has reached 9,181,595, while the primary vaccinated now stand at 10,119,393.
During the presentation of the fortnightly report (June 22/July 5) on the epidemiological situation in Morocco, the head of the communicable diseases division, Abdelkrim Meziane Bellefquih, indicated that the ministry wants to maintain this momentum in order to reach the sacred collective immunity.
To this end, he informed of the arrival, Tuesday morning, of new shipments of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, which will allow the continuation of vaccination operations. In order to achieve the set objectives, the official recalled that a major mobilization is being made for the opening of vaccination centers every day of the week, even on Sundays, with a priority for citizens over 40 years of age.
Furthermore, Mr. Bellefquih recalled that King Mohammed VI presided on Monday at the Royal Palace in Fez the launch and signing of agreements related to the project of manufacturing and filling in Morocco the anti-Covid19 vaccine and other vaccines, explaining that this structuring project is part of the royal will to allow the Kingdom to have global and integrated industrial and biotechnological capacities to manufacture vaccines.
