Morocco to Receive 3.3 Million COVID-19 Vaccine Doses, Boosting Vaccination Efforts

Vaccine deliveries to Morocco are expected to accelerate in the coming days. The kingdom is awaiting 2.68 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines from China’s Sinopharm and Pfizer-BioNTech.
In a statement to Le360, Dr. Saïd Afif, member of the technical and scientific vaccination committee, said that Morocco will receive in the coming days 680,000 doses of the vaccine developed by Pfizer-BioNTech and 2 million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine. In addition to these doses, the kingdom will also receive 650,000 new doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, as part of the WHO’s Covax program.
With these new deliveries, Morocco will be able to boost its vaccination campaign against the coronavirus, which will soon include people aged 12 to 17 years old. As of August 26, 18,022,176 people have received the first dose, while 14,068,939 people have had the two doses.
