Morocco’s National Soccer Coach Shares Hopeful New Year Message Amid Pandemic Challenges
The coach of the Atlas Lions has followed tradition by expressing his wishes for the new year that has just begun. In his message posted on his Instagram account, Vahid Halilhodzic said that even though the pandemic forced him to celebrate away from his family, he found in his players and staff a family of adoption.
In his New Year’s greeting message, the coach of the Atlas Lions calls for courage and determination, despite the difficulties caused by the Covid pandemic, which made 2021 a very difficult year both in sports and in all sectors.
"Happy New Year 2022 to everyone, with all my best wishes for happiness, joy, prosperity, success and health," he wrote, before adding that "it was a difficult year for the whole world with this pandemic and also for the football family. We played matches without an audience and held preparation camps in a health bubble."
The coach of Morocco confides that even though he spent New Year’s Eve "far from his family, he was surrounded by his second family," that of the players and staff.
