Morocco’s National Soccer Coach Faces Crucial Meeting on Future
Heavily criticized for several months, national coach Vahid Halilhodzic is to meet the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) this Monday to discuss his future at the helm of the Atlas Lions.
The Franco-Bosnian technician, pushed towards the exit by part of public opinion, will he be reappointed by Fouzi Lekjaa? The final decision will be made at the end of the meeting to be held today at the headquarters of the Moroccan football authority.
Last week, the rumor was of an imminent departure. A false information had affirmed the federation, declaring that no decision had been taken on this subject. This rumor would have been born from the presence in Morocco of Portuguese coach André Villas-Boas.
To put pressure on the FRMF, Coach Vahid had even claimed, in an interview with a newspaper, that he had received a proposal from another country. A way of saying that his future was assured.
