Morocco Football Chief Hints at Possible Coach Change Ahead of World Cup

After the mixed results obtained by the national team during the FIFA matches in June, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, spoke, once again, about the future of Vahid Halilhodzic at the helm of the Atlas Lions.
Will Vahid Halilhodzic still be the coach of Morocco for the 2022 World Cup? Apparently, the answer to this question will be known in 15 days, according to the boss of Moroccan football, who announced a decisive meeting on the contract with the Franco-Bosnian coach.
In a statement to MFM radio, Lekjaa revealed the quality of the relations he maintains with the national coach, underlining the degree of dissension around the management of the national team, particularly his choices. "With Vahid, on several occasions, I told him that he had to stop changing the formation in every match. I have a lot of disagreements with him," said the FRMF president.
"The players come to the national team, first to wear the national team jersey and secondly for the atmosphere within the team. However, the second point is not one of coach Vahid’s strengths," he added.
Consequently, the official stressed, the question of whether or not to keep him at the head of the national team until the World Cup arises. "Things are not that simple. In 15 days, we will make the decision, either to renew Vahid’s trust, or to look for a new alternative. And in this case, the opinion of the players will also be decisive," announced Lekjaa, indicating that dossiers of potential replacements are already on his desk.
