Morocco Football Federation: Coach Halilhodzic’s Potential Exit Won’t Cost Taxpayers

Morocco could part ways with its national coach before the World Cup scheduled for next November. His dismissal "will not cost a single dirham to the state budget," according to Faouzi Lekjaa.
Heavily criticized for his results and especially for the management of the national team, Vahid Halilhodzic could not lead the Atlas Lions to Qatar. In addition to the names circulating for his succession, the conditions of his dismissal were discussed by the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
Speaking at the meeting of the finance committee in parliament on Tuesday, Lekjaa said that "the FRMF will not pay any arrears in the event of termination of the contract that binds it to the Bosnian coach Vahid Halilhodzic."
To replace the coach of Morocco, several sources have confirmed that Houssein Amouta, coach of the local team, or even Walid Reguragui, coach of Wydad Sports Club, could lead the Moroccan national team during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
