Morocco Mobile Hospitals Ukraine Technology Defense
Morocco has ordered seven highly mobile field hospitals from German group Rheinmetall. These autonomous medical structures, intended for Defense and Interior, are based on systems already used by the Ukrainian army in extreme conditions.
Rheinmetall is strengthening its presence in North Africa with a major contract signed with the Kingdom of Morocco. In June 2026, its subsidiary Rheinmetall Mobile Systeme GmbH concluded an agreement for the supply of seven highly mobile field hospitals to Morocco.

According to the German group’s statement, one of these hospitals is intended for the Moroccan Ministry of Defense, while the other six will be delivered to the Ministry of Interior. The order value is in the range of several tens of millions of euros. Deliveries are scheduled between 2027 and 2028.
These hospitals are not simple temporary medical structures. They are designed to be transported and deployed rapidly, with modules mounted on trucks and the possibility of being supplemented by military tents for off-vehicle operations.
One of the most sensitive elements of this contract is the technological origin of the systems. Rheinmetall specifies that these hospitals are based on solutions developed for Ukrainian armed forces and already used in the field. They were designed to withstand severe transport constraints and extreme military conditions.
Autonomous Structures for Crises
At the heart of each hospital is a complete operating block, comprising a modern operating room, an intensive care unit and a sterilization area. Expandable modules allow for the rapid creation of a true medical treatment center once deployed.
These hospitals also include patient reception areas, an X-ray station, a pharmacy, a laboratory, as well as specialized services such as ophthalmology, dentistry, ENT and a scanner.
Rheinmetall also emphasizes their autonomy. These structures can operate in field areas as well as urban environments, with their own capacity for electricity, water and oxygen. The whole is completed by accommodation facilities and military sanitary equipment.

For Morocco, these mobile hospitals can serve in a military context, but also during crises, disasters or situations where fixed hospitals can no longer provide care. The German group presents these systems as a major contribution to maintaining emergency care when conventional infrastructure is out of service.
