Morocco: the Turkish drone company Baykar’s factory in Benslimane will be operational as early as 2026

The factory "will be dedicated to the manufacture and maintenance of new generation drones, specially designed to meet the operational needs of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR). This is not simply a matter of reproducing drone models already acquired by Morocco, but a significant technological advance that will mark a before and after in the national military industry," say sources close to the project.

Unlike the Bayraktar TB2 drones already acquired and tested by the Moroccan army, the drones that will be produced in the Moroccan factory will have their capabilities reinforced in terms of autonomy, stealth and integration of intelligent weapon systems. "The goal is to create a complete national ecosystem, capable of designing, producing and maintaining high-tech military equipment on Moroccan soil," add the same sources.

The American manufacturer Lockheed Martin also plans to build its plant dedicated to the maintenance and modernization of Moroccan F-16 and C-130 Hercules aircraft in the same Moroccan city.
