Morocco: A $4 million bonus for the Atlas Lions

The Moroccan team pocketed a $4 million grant following their runner-up finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Despite the defeat suffered in Rabat, this amount marks an evolution in the bonuses paid by the Confederation of African Football.

Morocco finished the competition in second place after a final played against Senegal, losing 1-0 this Sunday, January 18. This performance allows the national federation to receive around 3.4 million euros.

For its part, Senegal received a $10 million bonus, or about 8.5 million euros, for its championship title. This amount is significantly higher than the previous edition in 2024, where Côte d’Ivoire had received only $7 million.

The other teams that reached the semifinals also benefited from these increases. Nigeria and Egypt each received $2.5 million after their run to the semifinals.

The full amounts are paid to the respective national federations. These organizations have complete freedom to organize the distribution of the earnings between the players and the members of the technical staff.
