Morocco’s Military Service Drive Attracts 134,000 Young Volunteers, Including 14,000 Women

The call for military service has found a favorable echo among young Moroccans aged 19 to 25. 134,000 candidates answered the call, including 14,000 girls.
The census operation, which ended on June 7, was a great success, according to a statement from the Minister of the Interior. 133,820 registered candidates responded to the ministry’s call and filled out the form. The female gender represents 10% of the candidates, 13,614.
Due to the large influx of candidates, a meeting is scheduled by the central committee before the end of the month, in order to implement strict measures to select the candidates according to the number planned for the year.
Beforehand, and starting from June 17 next, the regional commissions at the level of the prefectures and provinces will meet to select the eligible persons for military service.
