Morocco Launches Mobile Consulate Service for Expats in Northern Portugal

The Moroccan embassy in Lisbon organized a mobile consulate on Sunday in Porto, for the benefit of Moroccans residing in this region located in northern Portugal. This is an initiative aimed at sparing the citizens of Porto the trip to Lisbon.
This approach is part of the effort to bring the administration closer to the citizen, said Abdelaziz Fandi, in charge of consular and social affairs at the Moroccan embassy in Portugal.
Among the services provided by this mobile consulate, there is the renewal of the passport, the identity card, the translation of documents, the registration in the civil status registers, and the granting of visas to people who have filed their application at the embassy, he added in a statement to the MAP.
This mobile consulate recorded a strong influx of Moroccan citizens from the cities of Porto, Aveiro, Braga, Vila Real or Guarda. The experience, according to Abdelaziz Fandi, will be repeated during the next summer holidays in the same city.
