French Consul in Fez Summoned in Schengen Visa Fraud Case

In his capacity as the legal representative of the Consulate, the Honorary Consul of France in Fez was called to the witness stand by the criminal chamber near the court of first instance of the city, in order to give his statements in the case of false banking and administrative documents.
As part of the complaints filed by the Consulate, the court’s approach aims to confirm its intention to constitute itself as a civil party in the case that revealed a criminal network made up of about forty people, reports Aljarida24.
37 defendants, including 6 women, prosecuted for submitting false banking and administrative documents with Schengen visa application files, were presented before the Court at the beginning of the week.
7 accused, who did not receive a summons, missed the hearing, including a woman from Khouribga who will be the subject of a trial in absentia, in addition to a defendant who justified his absence with a 10-day medical certificate.
