Morocco’s King Restricts Ministers’ Media Appearances as Government Term Ends

The Head of Government, Saad Dine El Otmani, has informed the ministers of new instructions from King Mohammed VI as the term of the government team approaches its end.
According to the new royal orientation, government members are required to continue their missions until the last day of the government’s term, but without media coverage of the activities they organize.
More specifically, the royal instruction is that government activities should be limited exclusively to the frameworks, officials and parties directly concerned, said Saaid Amzazi, the government spokesman, reporting the Head of Government who conveyed the King’s message.
The objective of this royal directive, explains Mr. El Otmani, is to guarantee the principle of equity towards all political parties not represented in the government, as the elections approach.
However, the Head of Government has invited all members of the government to tirelessly pursue their actions according to the royal directives and the orientations contained in his speeches in order to achieve the objectives set in the government program.
