Morocco’s King Receives New National Development Plan in Fez Ceremony

It is finally available. The general report of the Special Commission on the Development Model (CSMD) was presented on Tuesday to King Mohammed VI. It was during a solemn ceremony, at the royal palace in Fez, in the presence of Chakib Benmoussa, president of this Commission, who unveiled the main recommendations of the document.
The general report, a copy of which was handed over to the King, reflects the renovation of the development model, a new stage in the consolidation of the societal project led by the Sovereign, says a statement from the royal palace.
A true "national pact for Development", the innovative proposal of the CSMD constitutes a common frame of reference intended to strengthen, for example, attachment to the values of citizenship, the sense of belonging to a nation and the affirmation of the historical and cultural personality of Morocco, rich in its millennial history, its tradition of openness and its multiple components.
In his presentation of the report, the president of the CSMD, Chakib Benmoussa, said that his team did not overlook the new challenges and inflections induced by the coronavirus pandemic, in a multitude of strategic areas such as health, agriculture and food security, energy, industrial and tourism development.
The King welcomed the participatory approach that guided the work before thanking the political parties, economic and social organizations, NGOs and think tanks as well as all the citizens who participated in the hearings organized by the special commission.
The Sovereign then ordered the publication of the CSMD report and a vast operation to restitute and explain the conclusions and recommendations to citizens and the various actors in all regions of the kingdom.
