Morocco’s King Orders Emergency Aid for Atlas Mountain Communities Hit by Severe Winter Weather

To help the populations of the rural areas of the High and Middle Atlas affected by the heavy snowfall, King Mohammed VI has ordered the Mohammed V Foundation to immediately launch the "Grand Froid" solidarity action.
In a statement, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity stressed that this solidarity action is starting this Wednesday according to royal instructions. It consists of setting up a human and logistical system that will be deployed in favor of people affected by the cold and living in precarious housing and who do not have the means to cope with this drop in temperature.
The Mohammed V Foundation will work in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior and the local authorities so that the humanitarian aid consisting of flour, rice, sugar, tea, salt, oil, powdered milk and blankets reaches the many families in the provinces of Midelt, Khénifra, Azilal and Al Haouz.
