Morocco’s King Mohammed VI Provides Housing for 65 Families Displaced by Snowfall in Ouarzazate

In order to help the many families who found themselves homeless in Ouarzazate due to the recent snowfall, King Mohammed VI gave instructions for them to be rehoused.
A total of 65 apartments will be distributed to the families affected by the bad weather, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, which points out that the beneficiaries are families from the Taourirt district in Ouarzazate. They were forced to leave "their homes weakened by the bad weather and the prevailing humidity in the region".
Thus, on February 18, the draw for the distribution of the 65 apartments took place in the presence of the local authorities, the elected representatives of the municipality, as well as representatives of the provincial housing department and the Al Omrane group. In addition to the apartments that will be distributed, a Royal Armed Forces plane transported emergency aid to Zagora for the benefit of 9,000 families affected by the heavy rains and snowfall.
Solidarity and assistance operations have been launched since February 18, allowing the affected populations to have food products, blankets, as well as appropriate social support and local medical care.
