Moroccan Army Deploys Helicopters for Emergency Aid After Severe Winter Storms

Following the instructions of King Mohammed VI, teams from the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) are delivering emergency aid to populations affected by heavy rainfall and snowfall.
In addition to snow clearing and traffic restoration operations, humanitarian aid is being transported to the affected areas in the provinces of Zagora, Ouarzazate and Taroudant. According to Abdellah Omar Moussa, head of the medical-humanitarian pole at the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, this operation has a special and exceptional character insofar as it intervenes after heavy snowfall and a considerable drop in temperatures, reports the MAP.
Carried out by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, this operation aims at providing local assistance to the population, particularly in the mountainous douars and remote areas, through emergency humanitarian aid consisting of food products and blankets, as well as appropriate social support and local medical care.
To recall, unprecedented snowfall, exceeding 1 m sometimes, has affected several cities in southern Morocco, including Ouarzazate, Zagora and Taroudant, in recent days.
