Morocco: King Mohammed VI Appoints Prince Moulay El Hassan to Key Military Position
King Mohammed VI has designated Prince Moulay El Hassan as coordinator of the offices and services of the general staff of the army. A position that the Moroccan sovereign had himself held in the past.
According to the royal cabinet’s statement, the heir to the throne now takes charge of coordinating these institutions within the Royal Armed Forces (FAR). This appointment is part of a genuine historical and symbolic continuity.

Indeed, the current supreme commander of the army had assumed exactly the same responsibilities starting in 1985, when he himself was a prince, by decision of his father, the late King Hassan II.
Under the command of Mohammed VI, this military institution continues its national, humanitarian and social missions. The official text recalls that the action of the troops is based on fundamental principles of competence, integrity and sincere patriotism.
