Morocco’s Islamist Movement Warns Against Normalizing Ties with Israel

The executive council of the Mouvement unicité et Réforme (MUR), a party close to the PJD, held a meeting at the end of which it warned against "the dangers" of normalization with Israel and the negative impact it will have on the unity and stability of Morocco.
The MUR denounces the "haste of government members and media, cultural and sports actors to establish contacts with their Israeli counterparts" after the signing of the Joint Declaration between Morocco, the United States and Israel on December 22. In a statement, the movement protests against the "restrictions and bans" on the actions of opponents to normalization.
This decision joins the announcement made by the movement on December 12, calling on the "Moroccan people and all the living forces of society to gather and unite their efforts in order to face the threat of Zionist infiltration and oppose any form of normalization".
